Versatile Sage Cream Cheese

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

This versatile Sage Cream Cheese is equally tasty using either a good quality store-bought cream cheese or your homemade recipe. (A simple recipe for homemade cream cheese is included on the blog under the ‘Recipe’ Category, as well as how to make other varieties of cheeses and taste-tempting favourite recipes).

2-8 oz packages of cream cheese, softened

½ cup butter, softened

1 T lemon juice

3 or 4 tsp minced fresh sage (1½ tsp dried)

1 clove garlic, minced

  1. Blend all the ingredients together, thoroughly.

Serve at room temperature on crudités, crackers, open-faced sandwiches, or use as a topping over grilled chicken. You can also stuff chicken breasts with this refreshing cream cheese, wrapping the stuffed breast in foil and then baking.
