Most warm herbal teas have a comforting effect. Dandelions are a diuretic, and can help to reduce water retention and bloated feelings. Many people find that this is also a useful treatment for rheumatism. This Dandelion Tea tea also acts as a mild laxative, so please do not drink it in large quantities. Ingredients for Dandelion Tea:
5-6 fresh dandelion leaves
boiling water
1 tsp honey (optional)
- Remove any stems from the dandelion leaves.
- Tear the leaves into strips and place them in the bottom of a mug. Pour enough boiling water over them to fill the mug. Leave alone to steep for 5-10 minutes.
- Strain and discard most of the dandelion leaves. Enjoy your Dandelion Tea with a small teaspoonful of honey, if your prefer a sweeter brew.
(You may also add a few peppermint leaves with the dandelion leaves as a natural sweetener and for a refreshing light taste instead of using honey.)
