How to make these Scrumptous Opal Basil Cheddar Crisps yield: 40 snacks

There isn’t anyone yet who hasn’t enjoyed munching on these wonderful snacks. They make such good appetizers, too! Especially when served with your homemade cheese (how-to recipes available in betweenclosefriends.com under the ‘Recipe’ category, along with other tempting ideas.)

8 oz medium-sharp cheddar cheese, grated

½ cup butter, room temp

½ tsp Tabasco sauce

1 tsp prepared mustard (recipe also included in this blog)

1 cup flour

2 tsp chopped fresh purple opal basil

1 ½ cups crisp rice cereal

    1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
    2. Mix together the cheese, butter, Tabasco sauce, and mustard in a medium to large bowl.
    3. Blend in the flour and basil.
    4. When thoroughly combined, stir in the cereal, blending well.
    5. Next, shape this mixture into small balls.
    6. Place the shaped balls onto a greased baking sheet, gently flattening each with the bottom of a lightly floured glass.
    7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
    8. For best results, serve your Opal Basil Cheddar Crisps hot.
    9. These delightful crisps may be stored for several days in an airtight container or frozen for future use. Briefly reheat your crisps for 5 minutes, before serving.
