Herbal Bath Splash—Somewhere between a bath oil and a soap, splashes are made by blending a herbal infusion with grated pure castile soap.
1 handful of blackberry or eucalyptus leaves
2 pints of soft water, rainwater if possible
5 T grated castile soap
- Put the leaves in a pan. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Cover and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and leave this mixture undisturbed to infuse for 2 hours.
- Strain the resulting infusion, discarding the leaves. Return the strained liquid to the pan and again bring to a boil. Beat in the grated soap, beating until it has dissolved. Then remove the pan from the heat, setting it aside to cool.
- Pour your bath oil/soft soap into bottles. Cover, label, and store it in the refrigerator. Use it as a soft soap or an oil for your bath.
