How To Make an Easy Tempera Batter

This is an easy and quick to make Tempera Batter recipe that is popular with my family when deep-frying a variety of vegetables. It is light, both in calories and in coating thickness, and very tasty. It enhances the flavour of the vegetables that you are cooking tender-crisp. It may become one of your favourite recipes too. 1. Mix together 1 beaten egg with 2 c ice-cold water.
  2. Add 1 2/3 c flour and 1/3 tsp baking soda. Beat together well.
  3. The batter should be the consistency of heavy cream.
  4. Dip your selection of diagonally-cut vegetables in the batter, and deep fry until lightly browned.
