How to Make a Delicious Canadian MAPLE SYRUP LIQUEUR

With the coming maple bush running, make sure that you make plenty of this Maple Syrup Liqueur to last the whole year! It is delicious as a dessert, poured over fresh homemade vanilla ice cream or maple walnut cake, or served as a refreshingly different liqueur or an aperitif poured over crushed ice. This recipe makes 12 ounces, but can easily be doubled or tripled. Truly a Canadian liqueur. Ingredients: 4 oz pure maple syrup (the darker the richer the flavour)

8 oz good quality rye whiskey

  1. Combine the syrup and whiskey in a sterilized jar with a tight-fitting lid. Shake for 2 minutes.
  2. Allow this delicious Maple Syrup Liqueur mixture to mellow for 2 ½ to 3 weeks, making sure to shake your homemade brew daily for 1 minute.
  3. Truly delicious on it’s own, or as a dessert sauce. Enjoy!
