In the 18th Century, Frederic Tolfrey, originally from France, was offered this drink in Canada and wrote down the recipe in his diary. Ever since, the recipe has been passed on from generation to generation not only as a tonic against the harshness of Canadian winters, but also as a cold and flu remedy. This recipe will serve one. Ingredients: ¼ c gin
3 T lemon juice
1 tsp honey
1 whole clove
2/3 c boiling water
- Combine all the ingredients together heat proof mug.
- Allow your brew to steep for a few minutes for the flavours to blend, before drinking.
- Very tasty, and relaxing during the flu season, or for that matter, anytime!
