All Purpose Herbal Liniment

A little more complex, but worth the effort to find all the ingredients. This recipe has been passed down through history and has been used successfully to treat sprains, minor scalds, burns, sun burn and to soothe bruises. Ingredients: 2 oz myrrh gum powder

1 oz goldenseal powder

½ oz cayenne powder

1 qt rubbing alcohol or 1 qt apple cider vinegar

1. In a large pot with a tight fitting lid, combine the myrrh, goldenseal and cayenne powders with the liquid of your choice. (alcohol or vinegar).

2. Allow the mixture to stand, covered, for 7 days, shaking once daily.

3. At the end of the week, strain and discard the herbs.

4. Bottle your resulting All Purpose Herbal Liniment in a decorative bottle.

To treat pulled muscles or sprains, rub a little bit of the liniment on the affected area with your hands.

For minor burns, scalds, sunburn, etc, simply gently pat some of the liniment on the affected area with a clean soft cloth.
