Homemade Basic Maintenance Cat Food

This recipe for a very basic Homemade Maintenance Cat Food will yield approximately 1½ pounds of prepared food. Choose your cat’s favourite meat and vegetables for this recipe. You can mix it up to his preference, or mix up a variety and alternate for your pet’s culinary enjoyment. Ingredients: ½ lb of cooked meat (ground beef or boneless chicken)

½ lb cooked vegetables (carrots, peas)

½ lb cooked rice, mashed potatoes or oatmeal

  1. Mix together the above ingredients of your cat’s preference in a medium sized bowl.
  2. Blend it well, using either a food processor, or your hands.
  3. Cover your Homemade Basic Maintenance Cat Food in bulk, or divide it into covered serving sized portions. Refrigerate this cat food for up to 1 week, only.
  4. Each serving may be heated up and served warm (NOT hot), if your pet prefers. Otherwise, serve at room temperature.
