Simple Soothing Salve

This very common herb, chickweed, as the main ingredient is a very good medicinal aid to have on hand. Very simple to make, Simple Soothing Salve effectively soothes itching and quickly calms rashes. Ingredients: 6 oz fresh Chickweed

½ pt pure olive oil

½ -3/4 oz melted beeswax

1. Preheat your oven to 150 degrees F.

2. In an ovenproof glass dish, combine the chickweed with the oil.

3. Heat in the oven gently, for 3 hours, stirring once half way through.

4. Remove from the oven, strain and discard the herb.

5. To the herbed oil, stir in the melted beeswax until it cools and thickens.

6. Bottle in small lidded wide mouth jars while it is still pourable.

7. Store your Simple Soothing Salve in the fridge between uses, for up to 1 year.

If your salve separates, simply reheat it; stir; then allow to cool again.
