How to make home-made Italian Boursin

This Italian Boursin Cheese version is in keeping with its name, being both spicy and very tasty. If you are a true Italian fan, you will definitely want to use the garlic chives for that added ‘bite’ to your tastebuds. The chopped fresh basil and Parmesan cheese add a slight sweet note.

¼ of the basic Boursin Cheese

3 T chopped fresh basil

¼ to ½ tsp crushed red chili pepper

2 tsp chopped garlic chives (or onion chives)

2 T freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  1. Mix together all of the above ingredients with ¼ of the basic Boursin Cheese. (The Basic Boursin Cheese recipe is found on betweenclosefriends.com blog under the ‘Recipe’ Category, as well as other how-to instructions and recipes to make a variety of flavourful homemade cheeses to delight your palate!)

2. Serve your Italian Boursin Cheese decorated with sprigs of fresh basil, whole chili peppers and garlic chives, accompanied by crudites; in stuffed, broiled mushroom caps (for a real taste treat!); or on a garlic baguette with roasted red bell pepper strips.
